How I started...

To get to know me more I thought it would be fun to talk about how I got started in photography; I took yearbook in high school and ended up failing so I had to take it again and ended up growing a liking to it. I graduated in 2019 and in 2020 during lockdown I bought a Nikon to start experiencing. I ended up selling my camera because I was very shy and couldn't get myself out there and meet new people. In 2022 I bought my current camera, Canon rebel t7i, I picked it back up and lasted about a year until I got discouraged because I couldn't get steady clients. I was doing a lot of family shoots and family events to get more experienced and learn more about my camera but wasn't advertising enough because I was still battling with being so shy. In the beginning of 2024 I once again decided to pick my camera up again and really try my best this time to make it my full time job. During this last year I have experienced so much in this business and have learned so much. I have met so many amazing people and re-kindled so many old relationships. I learn something new with each photoshoot that I get to be apart of. I truly feel so blessed and that this is my calling because I keep coming back. So if you are new and just starting out like I am, I cannot express to you enough that it is very important to keep going! Meet with local photographers, join Facebook groups, get your name out there and really do your best to keep in the loop and keep advertising!! I hope so much that you stick with it and know that it's okay to have some slow moments and feel a little discouraged but know that you are learning and you always have to start somewhere!
